Park Hae-jin (박해진) born May 1, 1983. He is a South Korean actor. He is best known for his supporting roles in in dramas My Love from the Star (2013) and Bad Guys (2014) and his first leading role in Cheese in the Trap (2016).

Park began his acting career in KBS weekend drama Famous Chil Princesses. Park then starred in two highly successful TV projects and rose to fame – KBS daily drama Like Land and Sky with Han Hyo-joo and MBC television series East of Eden, where he plays Shin Myung-hoon, a ruthless man who steals another person’s sweetheart. Both drama drew solid viewership ratings nationwide throughout its run with high viewer ratings and launched Park into a household name. In 2009, Park joined the cast of SBS reality variety show Family Outing, which gave him more exposure. Park was known for his “delicate image” on the show, as he often lost in games to the other cast members.

Park also started expanding his career overseas. In 2011 and 2012, Park starred in Chinese dramas and has since participated in Mainland productions throughout the years. He returned to the small screen back in Korea, playing Lee Sang-woo in Seoyoung, My Daughter. The drama became the highest-rated Korean drama of 2013, with a peak rating of 47.1%. This was followed up with a supporting role in hit fantasy romance series My Love From the Star, which raised his profile.

In 2014, Park starred in popular medical drama Doctor Stranger, playing a Harvard’s graduate doctor. Both dramas My Love From the Star and Doctor Stranger received massive success in China, and despite not having been the leading actor in both series, Park experienced a surge in popularity overseas and became known as a Hallyu star. Park’s breakout leading role was in 2014 thriller Bad Guys, where he received critical acclaim for his performance as a villain. He was subsequently awarded the KDA Award at the 2015 Korea Drama Awards.

In 2016, his popularity increased after starring in the cable series Cheese in the Trap, based on the webtoon of the same name. In the drama, Park plays a popular college senior who secretly harbors a dark side to his other-wise kind and warm personality. The series was both a commercial and critical success, earning high ratings in both China and Korea, and won praise for its realistic depiction of the life of university students. Park’s performance was especially lauded, with many fans of the original webtoon praising him for his realistic and accurate portrayal of the character. He was subsequently awarded the Best Actor at the 2016 Korean Cable TV Awards.

Park has been cast in JTBC’s Man to Man, where he will be playing a bodyguard to a top star as well as a mysterious agent. He will also be reprising his role as Yoo-jung in the movie version of Cheese in the Trap, which will premiere in 2017. On November 2, 2016 it was announced that Park will star in a web drama titled Six First Kisses for Lotte Duty Free alongside Lee Joon-gi, Lee Jong-suk, Ji Chang-wook, Kai and Ok Taec-yeon.
